Korean Beef Sloppy Joes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef (85/15)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup hoisin sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • ½ tsp sriracha (adjust for heat)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 brioche rolls

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef, breaking it apart but keeping some chunks for texture. Drain excess fat if desired.
  2. Stir in garlic, sesame oil, ketchup, hoisin, water, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, and sriracha. Simmer 5-7 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the beef.
  3. Toast brioche rolls until golden.
  4. Spoon beef mixture onto rolls and garnish with green onions.

Prep Time: 10 min | Cook Time: 12 min | Total Time: 22 min

Tips:

  • Kick up the heat: Add 1 tsp gochujang or extra sriracha for a spicier bite.
  • Extra crunch: Top with shredded carrots, cucumber, or kimchi for a Korean-inspired crunch.
  • Make it quick: Prep the sauce ingredients ahead and store in the fridge for faster assembly.
  • Side ideas: Pair with sesame-slathered fries or a tangy Asian slaw.
