Ingredients
- 4 cups cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie works perfectly)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers (about 1 sleeve)
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set it aside.
2. Mix the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and cream of chicken soup until smooth.
Stir in the shredded chicken, cheddar, mozzarella, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until everything is evenly combined and creamy.
3. Assemble the Casserole
Spread the chicken mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
4. Prepare the Buttery Cracker Topping
In a small bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter and stir until evenly coated. Sprinkle this golden goodness generously over the casserole.
5. Bake
Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbling, and the cracker topping is golden and crisp.
6. Garnish and Serve
Let the casserole rest for a few minutes after baking. Sprinkle with a little fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness, if desired.
Tips & Serving Ideas
- Make it ahead: Assemble the casserole up to a day in advance and refrigerate. Add cracker topping just before baking!
- Add-ins: Stir in cooked bacon bits, diced green chilies, or steamed broccoli for a little twist.
- Serve with: Steamed green beans, a crisp salad, or garlic bread for a full, comforting meal.
This Million Dollar Chicken Casserole is proof that comfort food doesn’t have to be complicated. Creamy, cheesy, crispy-topped—and oh-so-satisfying. It’s love at first bite!
