Goat Cheese and Honey Samosas

Crispy, creamy, and drizzled with golden sweetness… these samosas are pure magic!

If you love flaky pastries with oozy, tangy-sweet centers, you’re in for a treat! These Goat Cheese and Honey Samosas are a Mediterranean-meets-Middle East twist on the classic savory samosa—with a creamy goat cheese filling, crunchy walnuts, and a touch of honey to bring it all together.

Wrapped in thin brick pastry and baked to golden perfection, they’re perfect for brunch boards, party appetizers, or a fancy snack you can eat with your fingers (our favorite kind). Oh, and that little drizzle of honey at the end? Don’t skip it.

Ingredients

  • 10 brick pastry sheets (or substitute with phyllo)
  • 200g goat cheese, crumbled
  • 3 tbsp honey (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 2 tbsp chopped walnuts
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs like thyme, rosemary, or mint (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven

Set your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Make the Filling

In a medium bowl, combine the crumbled goat cheese, honey, chopped walnuts, and a pinch of black pepper. Stir until just mixed—you want it creamy but still slightly chunky.

3. Prep the Pastry

Cut each brick pastry sheet in half to make strips. Brush each strip lightly with melted butter to help them crisp up in the oven.

4. Fill and Fold

Place a tablespoon of the goat cheese filling near the edge of one strip. Fold it over into a triangle, and keep folding in a triangle pattern (like a flag) until the filling is enclosed.

5. Bake

Arrange the samosas on your baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and crispy.

6. Garnish & Serve

Drizzle with warm honey just before serving and scatter over some fresh herbs if you like a pop of color and fragrance.

Serving Tips & Ideas

  • Party Platter Hero: Pair these with dried fruits, fig jam, and roasted grapes for a chic appetizer board.
  • Light Lunch: Serve over a bed of arugula with a balsamic drizzle.
  • Wine Pairing: These go beautifully with a dry white like Sauvignon Blanc or a lightly chilled rosé.

Recipe Notes

  • Can’t find brick pastry? Phyllo sheets work in a pinch—just layer two and keep them covered with a damp towel while you work.
  • Want extra crunch? Add a few chopped pistachios or almonds to the filling.
  • Make ahead? Absolutely! Assemble the samosas and freeze them raw—just pop into the oven straight from frozen, adding 2–3 minutes to the bake time.
