🥩 Sizzling Steak with Crispy Tostones & Fresh Veggie Salad 🥗


Ingredients:

✅ 2 beef steaks
✅ 1 tbsp olive oil 🫒
✅ ½ tsp salt 🧂
✅ ½ tsp black pepper
✅ ½ tsp garlic powder 🧄
✅ ½ tsp paprika 🌶

For the Tostones (Fried Plantains):

✅ 2 green plantains 🍌
✅ 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
✅ Salt, to taste

For the Fresh Veggie Salad:

✅ 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved 🍅
✅ ½ cucumber, sliced 🥒
✅ ¼ red onion, thinly sliced 🧅
✅ 2 tbsp fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped 🌿
✅ Juice of 1 lime 🍋
✅ 1 tbsp olive oil 🫒
✅ Salt & black pepper, to taste


👨‍🍳 Instructions:

1️⃣ Cook the Steak:

🔥 Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
🔥 Season steaks with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
🔥 Sear steaks for 3-4 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or to your desired doneness.
🔥 Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

2️⃣ Make the Tostones:

🍌 Peel the plantains and cut them into 1-inch thick slices.
🍳 Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry plantain slices for 3 minutes per side until golden.
🔨 Remove from oil, flatten each piece with a tostone press (or a heavy object), and fry again until crispy.
🧂 Sprinkle with salt while hot.

3️⃣ Prepare the Salad:

🥗 In a bowl, combine cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and cilantro/parsley.
🍋 Drizzle with lime juice and olive oil, then season with salt & pepper. Toss well.
