Apple Puff Pastry Bags with Vanilla

Ingredients

  • 1 roll of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 packet of vanilla pudding powder
  • 400 ml milk (instead of the usual 500 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 apples (any sweet-tart variety)
  • 1 stick of cinnamon

Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Vanilla Pudding

Prepare the pudding as directed on the packet, but use 400 ml of milk instead of 500 ml for a thicker texture. Let it cool slightly.

2️⃣ Cook the Apples

Wash, peel, and dice the apples into small cubes. Place them in a pot with the cinnamon stick and add just enough water to cover the bottom of the pot (to prevent burning). Simmer gently for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and fragrant.

3️⃣ Prep the Puff Pastry

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into equal-sized squares. Lay them out on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

4️⃣ Assemble the Bags

Spoon a generous dollop of vanilla pudding into the center of each pastry square. Top with a spoonful of the cinnamon-apple mixture.

Fold each square into a triangle or half-moon shape, gently pressing the edges to seal. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.

5️⃣ Bake

Bake for 20–22 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
